Rouge Bunny Rouge Eyes Wide Open Brightening Liner Duo is a double sided, brightening and highlighting eyeliner duo for the rim and inner eyelid. The pearlescent white highlighting side can be used to brighten up the inner and outer corners of the eyes and the brow bone while the pale rosy pink matte brightener is supposed to make eyes look instantly wide awake when applied on the waterline. The active ingredients are Candelilla, Beeswax, Carnauba Palm Wax and Castor Seed Oil.
When I saw this video, I liked it so much that I just had to buy it! Take a look and don’t forget to turn the speakers on when you watch it.
I ordered this product online. The pencil is beautiful, white with black caps on either side. I like the fact that both sides are labeled – the highlighter as well as the brightener, so one doesn’t have to open the caps each time to figure out what is where.
The white highlighting side is very soft, shimmery and somewhat sheer when applied. It blends easily. I have tested it on the inner corner and outer corner of the eyes – it worked well. Here are few pictures where I have applied this product on my left eye .
It can also be used to highlight the cheekbones, brow bone, the vertical line along the middle of the nose and the cupid’s bow. While it works on all the areas mentioned above, it works best in the eye area. It is a bit sheer for rest of the areas, but will get the job done if you want subtle highlighting for daytime looks.
The rose pink side goes on smooth on the waterline. It does create the effect of instantly opening up the eyes. For a minute or so, one does feel that the liner doesn’t look natural but it soon begins to gel with the overall look. Actually this color is too pale for medium skin tone. It will look better on fair skin. If you let the pink side touch the lashes, it leaves very tiny bits of pigment behind. Also if you wear a darker liner with this one, it will pick up bits of that too. So the key is to apply this first and then do a darker liner or mascara.
Both the white as well as the pink pigments have great lasting power (5-6 hours). I also love the fact that this pencil is a multi–tasker so it is great for traveling. I intend to try the pink side as an eye shadow too! Overall, I find this product quite exciting.
I bought this from http://www.beautybay.com for Rs 1974. While my previous orders from Beautybay reached me without any trouble, this one took more than a month to reach. It is also available at http://www.beautyhabit.com for $24.0. Beautyhabit delivers to India as well but there are shipping and handling charges in addition to the cost of $24.00. It used to be available at Zuneta (http://www.cultbeauty.co.uk/zunetawelcome.html) but I don’t see it there any more.
Watch this really nice videos about how to use this product:
Rouge Bunny Rouge is an interesting brand, if you want to read more about it, refer to the following link – http://en.rougebunnyrouge.com/about-us/brand
- Very good quality. The product is very soft and comfortable on the eyes.
- The product is a multitasker – can be used as an eyeliner and highlighter for corners of the eyes as well as other areas of the face like cheeks, nose and cupid’s bow. One can discover many more creative ways to use it.
- Ideal for traveling
- The pink side leaves tiny bits of pigment on the lashes if one is not careful and picks up color from mascara or the darker eyeliner (in case one has used a darker eyeliner as well)
- The pencil is thick, so regular sharpeners will not work with it. I will have to buy another sharpener. I wish the pencil was of the regular thickness.
