So I have been missing in action for a while and I thought I’d let you know what I’v been up to. Those who’ve been following ColorNGlitter for a while will know that there is one person who is with me virtually all the time …just like my shadow – Yes, my daughter :). You would have seen her with me in a couple of pictures – especially when I do round ups of MAC new collection releases. Well, in addition to my cutely notorious daughter, there are two very interesting and devastatingly handsome men who are a part of nearly everything I do – my husband and my brother. I obviously meet my husband everyday but I get to meet my brother once a year or at best twice. So meeting him is an event – it is the highlight of my year! He is also the cofounder of this blog. When we are together, we relive all the happy moments of our lives. Among other things, we do something we both like – Mall Hopping! Buying gifts for each other is an integral part of our time together. The cover picture of this post is one of my favorites. I took this picture a day after I got this classic bottle of Chanel No 5 as a gift from my brother. For a fragrance lover like me, to receive my first ever Chanel fragrance as a gift from my brother was indeed memorable. When we were kids, our Mom had a bottle of Chanel No 5 that our Father had gifted her. She treated the bottle with utmost care…so much so that she hardly ever used it. Not because it was Chanel but because it was a special gift. That’s when we first got to know about Chanel No 5. Interestingly, fragrances weren’t our specific area of interest while we were growing up. We grew up, went our own ways and about a decade later, we both developed a passion for fragrances. The best of the fragrances in my collection have been gifted to me by my brother. Childhood memories came gushing back as I held the classy bottle in my hand. Chanel No 5 is such a classic! One word to describe it – sophistication! It is a mature fragrance. Very different from the contemporary sweet, vanilla based fragrances. It brings with itself a sense of nostalgia. Owning a bottle of Chanel No 5 feels like owning a piece of history. I will share more about this iconic fragrance in days to come.
