Nail Paint Colors for Summer
Nail Paint Colors for Summer

Here are the nail paints that I think will be great for summer. I do not know if these shades belong to summer collections of their respective brands, but they made their way into my summer collection because when I saw them in the stores, they screamed summer to me!

This post is just an overview of the shades. I will be doing separate reviews for each shade as I work through them. If you want me to prioritize reviews for any particular shades, please mention the same in the comments section. We’d love to know which colors are your favorites this summer.

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear – Green With Envy

This is a beautiful lime green nail polish. The first coat is semi opaque and a bit streaky. Could be because I did not use a base coat. The second coat gives opaque coverage. It has a glossy crème finish. I love this color. Here is a more detailed review of this nail polish.

This is a very beautiful corn flower blue nail polish. The application is hassle free – no unevenness. Everyone who saw me trying this color loved it – so its not just me raving about it. It takes two coats to get the color as it appears in the bottle.

The first coat was smooth and streak free and after the second coat, the color on the nails was exactly what it looks like in the bottle – beautiful purple with very subtle golden sort of shimmer and a glossy finish

This is a lovely bright medium pink color with a hint of lavender. This nail paint has a crème finish . In my opinion, this is a great color for summers. First coat was a bit sheer but after the second coat, one gets opaque coverage. Here is a more detailed review of this nail polish.

Inglot 353

This is a very summery, peachy orange shade. It has slight golden-orange shimmer in it but the shimmer does not show up when the color is applied onto the nails. The first coat is not very sheer but not opaque either. The application is smooth – the enamel spreads evenly on the nails. This nail enamel has a glossy crème finish. This is a red nail paint with a very slight hint of pink. The application is smooth. The first coat is quite opaque. The finish is glossy. This is a great color for those you want to wear red but are a little apprehensive about the color being too bright. This is a very safe shade of red. Rasmopolitan is a beautiful candy pink color. Very easy to apply – absolutely no unevenness. The first coat is nearly opaque. I have used two coats. The finish is glossy – without any top coat. One of the best pink nail paints I have owned. If you like pink, check this out when you are at the Colorbar counter next.

Red Hot Tamale is a vibrant orange red color. It is bright but not loud. The nail enamel applies without any streaking. It dries pretty quickly. The first coat is nearly opaque but two coats look great. The finish is glossy.

Sally Hansen Sugar coat – Sour Apple

I am not a fan of textured nail paints but I flipped for this color.

The instructions specifically mention that 2 thin coats are required but it takes some practice and patience to apply thin coats. I didn’t find it easy – probably because it was my first time with a textured nail paint. Some ingredient in the nail paint irritated my skin a bit (nothing major but just a call out for those with sensitive skin…..be cautious when you apply this nail paint). The first coat was streaky (probably because it was textured). The second coat provided opaque coverage and dried to leave behind a textured finish.

Color looks good but I cannot stand the textured finish (nothing specific to this nail paint, I guess I just don’t like textured finish in general but just because I fell in love with this color, I thought I’d give it a shot).
